This is the title creature from my proof of concept teaser, 'Outsider'.

I wanted to take a mythical creature, in this case, a Minotaur, and push the design on from the regular half man half bull look.
The aim was to present a fresh take on the classic myth and portray the character as more than just a monster.

The basic character was modelled in Modo then taken into Zbrush to create displacement and other maps. He was rigged and animated in Lightwave (as was the cloth sim) and then the animation was exported as an mdd for rendering in Modo where hair was added too. Comping and grading was completed in After Effects.
